Howdy!
Hope everyone is doing well, the winter weather is slacking off in your neighborhood, and you’ve got your eyes on spring. I’m doing my best to keep my head above water. It occurred to me as I was sitting down to type this, that I haven’t given you guys much of a glimpse into my real life. I mean—I’ve told you paid subscribers my most personal dilemmas, but I thought we should all get to know each other a little better.
First off, say hello to my side project that’s been keeping me from the computer and my word count goals in the toilet.
We’ve been working on this house since May of last year, and we’re finally in the home stretch. While I’m not doing much of the work, my husband has been over there (across the hayfield) every night after work. So, when the husband is busy, my writing time is nearly nonexistent. Sorry about that guys!
We’re almost there though, and I can’t wait to get my new writing space set up. I’ll wait ‘til next year to start asking for a she-shed library lol.
And say hello to my new baby!
In the midst of finishing the house, the youngest Leslie learning to crawl, and getting our garden ready for next season, I decided I needed a new writing buddy.
Meet Ivy! She’s a standard poodle and affectionately named after one of the main characters in Stix. Yeah, I know… new puppy, new house. It’s probably not the best combo, but she’ll be potty trained before we move.
Book news!
You may have heard me going on about Stix, since it’s the newest addition to my Amazon author page, but The Hills Know is getting a little boost too! Audio is coming soon!
I’m expecting The Hills Know to go live this June (approximate) on Audible, and I couldn’t be more excited. I love audio. Most of my “reading” is on audio since my hands are always busy cooking or changing diapers.
REMINDER:
Stix is still available for preorder. Why might you want to preorder? Well, it helps generate buzz around release day, boosts my rank on important charts that guarantee visibility, and sets the momentum for an awesome release. As of now, Stix is available for preorder through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Kobo, Smashwords, and more!
I WILL be having preorders for paperbacks as soon as Ingram gets my title through processing. So, stay tuned for an update on that.
That’s all I got!
Feel free to jump over to the chat if you have the Substack app. I’m going to make an effort to be more present over there. If you have questions about upcoming releases, want to discuss book recs, want to share memes, whatever—join us! Hey, if we get enough people, we’ll make t-shirts or something lol.
Love that cover, Breanna 😍 Sounds like a busy year for you, especially with the introduction of Ivy -- she’s beautiful! Hope you get back on track again soon.
