Current read
Hidey ho, neighbors! I’ll keep this brief. My newsletters are a little all over the place as far as content and schedule. I’m trying to change that.
One thing I’d like to share more often is my “current read” or listen, in my case. I’m a mom. My kids don’t let me read. Let’s be real, but I do consume a ridiculous amount of audiobooks.
This week, I’m listening to The Hollow Kind.
Strangely enough, this novel follows two timelines and features a lumber camp. If you’ve read Stix, you’ll understand why I said “strangely enough.” The premise felt familiar immediately. But I’d wager that Davidson is far better writer. The setting/imagery in this book is gorgeous, immersive, and haunting. I’m still getting into the nitty gritty of the story, but I’m thoroughly enjoying his voice.
I checked it out on GoodReads, and the reviews are sort of mixed. I have high hopes though. Also, this cover… Isn’t it gorgeous?
Latest movie
Okay, I watched some of the weirdest shit this past weekend, and I blame my husband. Have you heard of The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot?
That wasn’t a joke. That’s the title.
I wouldn’t have fallen into the trap of watching this had it not been for Sam Elliot starring as the lead. I mean, I can’t turn down that fine wine.
But I don’t even know what genre to call that movie. It was weird, grotesque, and unlike any movie plot I’d ever tried to follow. It didn’t feel like there was a typical climax at all. And the ending? Well, I still don’t know. I give it 2/5 stars, and those 2 are only for Sam Elliot.

If you have the app, check out the subscriber chat and tell me what you’re reading! I’m always up for new recs. And if you’re an author, feel free to share your book in the chat. Maybe someone is looking for your exact book right now. You never know!
Sam Elliot’s voice alone warrants 5 stars so that must have been a terrible show. Lol
I am reading “What do you mean the third dimension is going away” by Jim Self.
I wrote “Forever Five - The Adventures of The Ladybug Hunter”, a memoir to my daughter’s short life and the beautiful lessons she taught me. 💞🐞💞
