Sweet Tooth
So, this show is absolutely dreamy, adorable, action-packed, and heart wrenching. It follows Gus, a hybrid boy, on the search of his mother after his “father” dies. We’re on season 2 after binging season 1 in one day last year.
My kids love it, and there’s enough drama for my husband and me. Plus, it's saving me from my current show hole because I’m missing Yellowkackets.
Have you seen that one? It’s a delicious folk horror. You understand what I mean if you’ve seen it. Seriously, it’s some of the best horror I’ve seen this decade. I mean—it stars Christina Ricci. You can't go wrong there.
Yellowjackets follows a group of high school soccer players after their plane crashes and they’re forced to fight for survival, jumping from their time in the woods to them as adults twenty-five years later. I could watch every episode five times; I swear. It’s that good.
I thought you said book recs?
Well, I did. Just give me a second. This week I’m bringing you a multi genre smorgasbord.
What I'm Watching
Oh! I will have to check those shows out and keep them for fall! Summer weather has arrived so the book recommendations are timely!
I just finished VenCo by Cherie Dimaline about modern day witches. Couldn’t put it down. Love powerful female characters and their ability to restore balance to the world.
